Naming Ideas for White Cats and Kittens
I've been compiling a list of names for white cats and kittens on my Pet Numerology website for some time now. There are a number of inspiring sources for white kitty names, including ice and snow, white foods, and clouds.
Ice, snow, and other cold white things suggest a wide array of excellent names. Arctic, which is the big area of ice and snow around the north pole is a great name. For a bigger or more active cat consider names for snow on the move such as Avalanche, Blizzard, Flurry. For a smaller cat consider Icicle, Snowflake, or the ever popular Snowball. More icy names are Frosty, Ice, Polar, and Winter.
Clouds of different types, which are often white, can be used as names. Cloudy (particularly for a gloomy cat), Cirrus, and Cumulus are all good cloud based names.
Because ghosts are generally white, some names for spirits might be considered - especially for a very quiet cat. Examples are Casper (the friendly cartoon ghost), Ghost, and Spirit.
Some white or clear gems or precious stones have beautiful names. Diamond, Ivory, and Pearl are all pretty names - and perhaps better for female kitties.
There are also some fantastic names suggested by white foods. Two dairy based names are Cream and Milk. For a sweeter cat consider Marshmallow, Sugar, or Vanilla. More unusual choices would be Chowder or Salt, which might best be names for boy cats.
Some famous names for white cats might be Kimba (who was a white lion in cartoons from the 1970s) or Moby (who is a white whale in Herman Melville's novel Moby Dick, so maybe best for a really big cat).
Some other white inspired names are Angel (pretty), Chalk (unusual), Cotton (unusual), Cue Ball (very unusual - probably best for a boy), Jasmine (very pretty - probably best for a girl), or Swan (pretty - probably best for a girl).

What is the breed of an orange and white cat?
I have an orange and white cat that has no stripes.
Those are unofficially called ginger cats. Officially, it would be solid red with white. And that's a color of cat. Several breeds of cats can come in that color. Unless you have a pedigree for your cat, he would be a Domestic Shorthair, Longhair, or Mediumhair depending on coat length. Ginger cats are gorgeous. I have two ginger guys.
