Do rats like cat toys?

I know rats like toys and stuff but do they like they cat toys like the scratching posts and stuff?

i have a pet rat and she likes those plastic bals that have a little bell in it but DONT get them the ones that have the drugs to make them go crazy

How to stop my cats from scratching the door frame?

I have four (4) indoor cats. They have lots of cat toys and scratching posts and I even permit them to scratch the furniture. (its ugly furniture anyway) But my main concern is that they are scratching on the door frame of my bedroom! It's a wooden door frame and they are just tearing it up! Is there any way that I can get them to stop scratching at the frame? Help!

Well, there's the old squirt bottle to chase 'em away with. Feliway, as previously mentioned, can (strong "can") be halpful, but is very expensive and may not do much (not to mention it is a 1 room thing, so they could stop using it here, but start scratching there). A catnip post is a great idea...just put it right where they usually scratch and it should help.

I have also heard, but not tired, orange oil. Might even be able to accomplish by zesting and orange and then rubbing it on the door frame. Apparently they don't care for it and should leave it alone. Worth a shot--and helps the room smell citrusy! You can't lose!

how can u get ride of ring woms ina cat and how do kids get it to?

Kids get it from other kids also, so the cat may not be involved at all.

The same medicine can be used on both. It'll take a few weeks, but it's completely treatable.

how come the medicine makes my cat's ring worm condition worse?

i asked u b4 about ringworms and u said goto the vet...I did
and he prescribed a boric soap and fungus cream but my cat's condition is gettin worse

I red on line that i have to isolate him in a clean environment and give him a bath day after day..I did that

but i found that he's losing more hair..I have been doin that for 7 days now.and no progress

Your cat probably needs oral medication in addition to what you're applying topically. The best shampoo, BTW is either Malabeb or Chlorhexaderm - they are anti fungal, and kill the spores on the cat's fur. In addition, you want to vaccuum frequently (gets the spores up) and wash his bedding. Ultimately ringworm gets beaten when the cat's own immune system kicks it - we help it with the topical, and the oral medication and baths, but it's a sign of a weakened immune system. Feed him a high-protein diet, the best you can afford, and add some l-lysine to his food daily to boost his immune system.

Talk to your vet about oral drugs for him, it sounds like he's got a pretty bad case. The best drug is one called Sporonox, the older one is Fulvicin (Grifulvin).

Cats Collar

Collars Or Harnesses? Protect Your Pets Safety

Pet owners often use a collar for the purpose of restraining their dog or cat. Collars should not be used for restraint. Your dog or cat can easily escape from a standard collar and martingale and pinch collars can cause discomfort, they should be used only for for the purpose of training and attaching your pet's identification (You should  have your pet's identification attached to their collar or harness at all times it only takes seconds to do with the tag-it pet id holder). A harness is the proper tool for restraining your dog or cat and attaching a leash. If you crate your pet remove their collar or harness before placing them in their crate in order to prevent them from being entangled. Choose the appropriate size harness for your dog or cat by measuring the circumference from around the belly behind the front legs to the top of the shoulder with no slack and adding five percent. You can do this easily with a flexible tape measure. For collar measurement measure the circumference around the neck with no slack and add five percent.

It is very dangerous to leave your pet on a tie out. They can become entangled and injure themselves. If you put your pet on a tie out only leave them on it for a short period of time and
NEVER leave your pet on a tie out without being supervised.

Remember our pets rely on us to keep them safe it is the least we can do for them.

How to makeshift a cat collar?

My cat has recently started enjoying the outdoors and i need to get him a collar just in case he adventures his way into being lost Problem is, I'm completely broke. Any ideas as to how i could make a collar, with a name, phone, etc. that would be waterproof??
Oh my, people are so judgmental Cats are meant to explore! And yes, i take perfectly good care of my pets.

Duct tape, folded in on itself. But please save your "pennies" to buy a proper collar! There are some very good ones that are not expensive. But you need to have him in a "Safety Collar" that breaks away if he gets caught. Cats will do that since they are naturally curious and want to explore tight spaces.

Cat scratching problem?

I have three cats, two use the sisal post like they are supposed to, the other uses one of the slanted cardboard scratchers. The problem is, that when my third cat (the one who ONLY uses the cardboard post) goes to use the scratcher, one of my other cats goes over and swats at him. It seems to be deterring him from using it, even tho he is obviously trying. All 3 cats are 2 years old, neutered, and from the same litter so raised together. Anyone have any advice to get the one cat to leave the other alone when its trying to use the awesome post I got for it? It seems to be annoying cat #3 and he will go elsewhere to try to find solace and not use the post like hes supposed to. Which, lately, has been my bed and I am a little annoyed. Suggestions?

My suggestion is to get another Scratching Post, and put it by your bed. If need be, get a third post, as well. That way the other two cats won't be able to succeed at bully #3 away from all of them all the time. It seems like even though they grew up together, now that they are grown up, they want a bit more separate territories. So they are each going to be wanting some spaces of their own, and you may have to create those spaces for them. Three hidey-hole type kitty condos, or cat beds, in different areas of your home, perhaps even going so far as putting their food dishes near their respective hidey-holes.

And you may wish to look into using Feliway to keep things calm.
